Since weeks, the whole Terai region is flooded due to heavy rainfall, causing thousands of people to be homeless. More than 20 districts including Biratanagar, Jhapa, Saptari, Chitwan, Itahari, Rautahat, Bardiya are affected. At the moment more than 74 Nepali died, 56 are missing and 28 are seriously insured. Tens of thousands of Nepali lost their home and many more do not even have food. The army and the police are providing first aid.
Himalayan Care Hands, together with Himalayan leaders and the NARA, are providing rafting crews to the Nepal government for search and rescue missions.
Himalayan Care Hands have prepared emergency packages, containing a tent, food and first aid (toothbrush, tooth paste, soap, aqua tabs, towels, sanitary things for women, dry food).
Each emergency package will cost 30chf.
We already financed 200 emergency packages but we urgently need financial support to purchase more !
